Riding The Rock...in a Jeep.

Hello everybody

Myself and a few friends hope to travel from the eastern US to Newfoundland at some point next year and are currently in the planning stages of a trip. I have done countless hours of research on the web as well as Google Earth to the best of my ability, but have come up severely short on any information regarding taking a 4x4 around some of the more remote off the beaten path places. We would like to stay legal and responsible, and while we are experts on the way of wheeling in the US, Newfoundland is somewhere we are admittedly completely clueless on.

We are looking to do some adventure off roading with a real focus on scenic photo/video stuff as we will be shooting and producing a video of the trip. Does anyone have any suggestions for where we can take Jeeps that is worth while? We arent looking for hardcore off roading/trailriding (we do that enough here), but more "overlanding". Not big on hiking as most of the video/trip will be focused on the vehicles and that aspect of the adventure.

Also, what are the laws on venturing "off the path" ?

I appreciate any help on this, thank you!
