With the snow and cold soon on its way, thought it may be worth starting a thread for winter riding info, whether its gear, tires, tips for those not used to winter riding etc. I have never rode in the winter/snow so this is something new to me.
One thing i was thinking about was studded tires for winter trail riding. Im thinking about taking off the dual sport kit for the winter and just using for hard packed trails (no street riding). Will my knobbies suffice? Has anyone had luck installing screw/studs? Are the pre-studded tires the best way (although very expensive) and if so where can you get em?
Anyone else hit the trails in the winter? Would be excellent to organize a group snow run
