What a ride it's been!

WHAT A RIDE IT'S BEEN!
You know what they say about "All good things...".

In light of several events; accomplishing my goal set five years ago, life changes (positive, including an awesome 21 month-old at home), and the mass population of distracted drivers, I've decided to hang up my motorcycling helmet.

Five years, 100,000km (22, 000 on two wheels + 78,000 on three wheels), riding everyday, my bike my only vehicle. From errand runs to touring and daily commuting, I can say without a doubt my motorcycle adventures have been amazing.

I rolled in and out of the Island's nooks and crannies and off the Island more than once; the Cabot Trail, Maine and into Quebec for a shot at a Guinness Record ( we set the record in 2010 http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/records-7000/largest-parade-of-brp-can-am-spyder-roadsters/ ).

An article with BRP about riding year-round in Newfoundland:

The Spyder is built like a tank - BRP did their homework and it certainly served me well for versatility, adventure, stability and reliability through all seasons.

Days I've missed due to severe weather conditions, such as hurricanes and blizzards:
2009 - 2010: 21
2010 - 2011: 13
2011 - 2012: 18
2012 - 2013: 23
2013 - 2014: 34

Am I leaving the realm of motorcycling? Yes.

Am I leaving riding? No. My passion for moving through the landscape will now be focused more on riding water.

My trusted Spyder has already found a new home, where it will be well taken care of and enjoyed.

I extend a heartfelt thank you to the supportive members of RTR! I will be checking in to say hi on occasion.

I have a few photos kicking around of my Spydering and hope to drop back on the form at a later date to share some key moments of my 'run'.

It was a GREAT 'run'!
