It's probably best to carry two source of air when riding, especially long dist and even more so riding solo. I have a co2 pump and a bicycle hand pump on the bike at all times. And longer rides I'll take the 12v pump.

The co2 pump doesn't really do the job by itself, and I've never tried using the bicycle pump. And with a 12v pump getting tossed around, I guess that's not guaranteed to work when needed.

So my question is, has anyone used a bicycle pump on a motorcycle tire? Will it work? And is there a good quality hand pump that's compactable to carry on the bike?

I was just looking at these on MEC. Have you tried pumping up a motorcycle tire with it?

Yeah, slow going but will do it in a pinch. Pumped up a flat on a mini quad the other day which i would think would be a higher volume as well.

I have a push pull pump that I used to take mountain biking. Worked very well for that. It however, sucked for trying to pump a few psi into my WR250X or V-Strom tires. A hundred or so strokes only amounted to 2 or 3 psi for a full size motorcycle tire.

I have carried a portable bicycle hand pump for years and it has never let me down when the need arose to add a few psi in the midst of a trip.
With that said, I have never had to air up a completely flat tire with it, (knock on wood).

Getting flats have seem to be my new hobby. Got a small hand bicycle pump on handlebar attached with reusable tiewraps. Not fast, 3 minutes of pumping roughly, but beats walking for oodles of minutes.

    I bought this pump $34.50
Nice pump, but a false sense of security for motorcycles

Any pedal bikers here interested in a pump? My loss your gain....make me an offer.

Filzer Mini Me 2 is the brand.

Don't really need another pump, so $20 and a coffee is where I'm at. :)
