Just got back from the grocery store. I wouldn't even go out if that was what I had to deal with. Come on spring.

Beautiful picture though :) What was the temp when the pic was taken?

Our winter has certainly been strange with the early snow fall and record breaking cold temps in December. Hard to believe that the massive amount of snow in December practically all melted and that we have almost been snow free for the month of January.

About -10 when I took the pic.

This gives you an idea of the kind of weather we had. No audio, but you get the picture. :p

Just saw a guy on a pedal bike in shorts on Logy Bay Rd. Saw a guy putting a battery in a bike on Rankin St. If I had 2 good ankles I would take the DRZ for a scoot.

I noticed. Did you know that St John's is warmer today than New Orleans?

Just as I was still pondering how the Diesel started so easily I came to the end of the video and watched you unplug the block heater. :D

No block heater on this one

We didn't have one for the first 5 years we had the car. It always started, but sounded like a tractor dragging chains down the road.

January has broken the winter in half. The worst is yet to come but it should only be short from here.

Bit of a difference there! The car is going on 11 years old so we need to help it along a little.

When we had that snowstorm a week + ago it took me 5 hours to drive from Bonavista to my house and most of the roads to Clarenville were quite a bit worse than your pic, no big deal in my new to me Element with good winter tires.

The melt we had screwed the beer tasting event that was booked at Marble the weekend after I got home. I so wanted to get back from skiing in Japan to skiing in NL 2 days later. Damn!

    Take me backā€¦..

Photos were taken after the plow had finally showed up. When I tried to go to work at 5:50am there was about 15 inches of power in our road. It took me ages just to get to North Gower. If I was the only person on the road I'd have continued but there are too many idiots around here with 'all season' tires. There were over 90 accidents and all the highways were closed at one points because of accidents.

There's still so much blowing snow around here and white outs that we had a huge pileup on the 401, took them over a day to get all the vehicles out and reopen all the lanes.

There's just too much traffic around here and too many people who can't seem to understand the principle of slowing down to accomodate the conditions!
