In February, I thought I had it all planned out. Leave the island Victoria Day weekend, do a workshop in upstate New York, proceed slowly to Florida, across to California, up to Tofino and back across Canada over an 8-10 week time frame.
Then came winter... a long one it felt like. I have to be in Nova Scotia mid-June. I'm just starting bike maintenance. There are things I can't rush.
So... now I'm still doing 2 weeks off island at the end of May. Back for a couple of weeks and then a couple of weeks in NS. Back... do more prep.
Then, first week of Aug. or so, off doing the 8 to 10 weeks but in reverse with a cut-off to be back on the island for our Thanksgiving (before the snow!)
Let's see how the new plans hold out.

Exactly! To paraphrase Eisenhower - plans are useless, planning is indespensable.

Every plan I have ever made...the arse went out of it. I stopped.
Occasionally I am dragged along on someone elses plan until it does not work for me and then I bail. I don't feel bad about it when that happens.

On the end of May trip I'll be going straight through to Maine by way of St. Stephen but on the way back I might be in F'ton for a couple of days... will let you know.

One thing I have learned is to just get ready to GO! The where and exactly when might change, but if you have everything ready you can just go anyway. Working on alternate details now so I can throw those out too.
