Looks like Friday might be a nice day to sneak away from work. Anyone else planning a day ride?
We are supposed to get sun and 30°C (Fredericton, NB)
Since it is my last day of work before retirement, I probably shouldn't play hooky.
What are they gonna do? Rehire you so they can fire you.
Maybe. Not taking chances on them messing up retirement benefits or monies owed. Just want to be done with them.
Congratulations on your up coming retirement.
Congrats on your retirement Ross, quite the milestone. Sounds like a great day for it too, enjoy.
Congrats on the retirement but take the bike to work that day and enjoy a loooong lunch.
I have been riding to work pretty much every day for the last three weeks or more. (My 2004 Honda Accord gave up and it means I take the bike or drop my wife at work and take her car.) On days like today (or for Friday's forecast), the 15 km ride to work is generally 100+ km home at the end of the day.
Hope your boss don't google you up to see where you are. You didn't download that Covid-19 tracer app or anything to your cell did ya?
Well, more retirement cake for them if you don't show up so win-win? Just kidding. Congratulations!
Being home in isolation I can do laps around my yard
Now you will be able to take an extra day or two to investigate the Nort Woods on your way back from Winnipeg!
Might not be this year unless international border restrictions are lifted. Even then, I will be carefully looking at infection rates of all the places I am travelling through - in the US and Canada (especially QC).
Enjoy your day RossKean. It is hopefully one you look back on for a long time.
Yup! What he said!
Way too hot today, so I booted it back home shortly after lunch. Temps were fairly consistent at 28, but at sea level it instantly dropped to 14, which was awesome. In the woods it got hot, around 31.
Here’s a few pics.
A nice detour. But this bridge is a little sketchy. The center is two 2x4’s spaced apart and perfect for wiping out. Riding on the side was the only option, but being close to the rail plays mind tricks. On top of all this, the bridge has a little bounce. Heads up!
I don't recognize the bridge though the old southern shore hiway comes to mind but the stage could be Brigus South?
Damned fine pictures.
I went down to Petty Harbour today, top of the hill by the pond was 28° and 500m later it was 10°.
Congratulations RossKean! I hope you're happily retired for a very long time
