Deer Pond south of Gander - ride in from Terra Nova ?

Anyone been down the dirt road from Terra Nova park to Deer Pond ? It looks like they go to a couple beaches on the southwest side of Deer Pond (which is 30 miles due south of Gander). Google earth shows logging roads into the pond about 30 miles from Terra Nova, just wondered how passable they are ?
I am researching a possible plane wreck in the area from WW2.
