Disclaimer: this project is not really adventure riding related, but thought I'd post anyway, it is for a motorcycle 
I'm far enough into this project so I figured I'd post some progress pics. Going to take a long while to complete and may end in tears but wanted to try this for a while now, figured I'd go for it.
I have the shape 90% done and I'm just working on finalizing the symmetry. I want to get that as close to perfect as possible but don't find it easy so its going pretty slow. Hoping to complete the shaping this week and then will come fibreglass.
I first did a quick mock-up to get a general idea on what I wanted.
To make the buck I got a load of scrap pieces of polystyrene sheet insulation from one of the contractors working in my neighborhood. I fixed his Magna for him so he kindly dropped off a load of this stuff. This stuff is great for forming, its very strong, easy to glue together using 3M spray adhesive and sands real nice. Started gluing layers together to get a basic shape.
