Canada Customs

I wonder if I am the only one here who has had this issue with CC?
I picked up a great deal on a tent this summer from an ADV inmate in Michigan. Alps Mountaineering Tasmanian. Never been used and even with exchange and shipping it was worth my while to purchase so we did the deal. Tracking number showed it arrived in Canada and then it was sent for further processing. For 2 weeks it remained at this status. WTF???
A week after that I receive a letter from an illegible numbered Customs officer requesting an invoice and proof of payment so I e-mailed the proof of payment and a detailed explanation but still no package and the tracking number no longer showed it existed.
Another few weeks of this and another letter demanding proof of payment arrived with the threat of returning the package. Had it faxed, scanned, emailed and sent again. The tent showed up 3 days later.
Over 2 months for a priority package from Michigan. What a pain in the ass.
