Traveling to the Rock for a visit

Good afternoon. I found this forum kind of by accident...

Anyway, I'm a rider from Vermont, and my wife and I will be traveling to Newfoundland for the last week of July. We're coming up to participate in the Ride the Rock rally that the Newfoundland Widows Sons chapters (Masonic Riding Association) are putting on from 7/26 to 8/1.

We're taking the overnight ferry from North Sydney to PaB, arriving Monday morning 7/25 and leaving on the Argentia ferry on 8/1. (Jim G-C, looks like we'll completely miss you - pity; I've been enjoying the Old Guy with a Bike videos and will be taking your advice about getting breakfast ON the ferry before debarking!) The rally doesn't start until Tuesday night, so we've got a day and a half to play tourist on our own. Possibly some lighthouses, and maybe a trip up to Cox's Cove on Tuesday?

Anyway, the plan for the week is camping in Corner Brook from Monday to Friday, ride to Twillingate and Gander on Friday and camp a couple of nights, then ride to St John's on Sunday. And rather than ride the 600 miles back across to take the PaB ferry, we're going to slip out a day early and take the Monday afternoon ferry back to NS.

Guess I'm just looking for any advice on riding conditions, weather conditions or just general advice for a first time visitor to the Rock. I'll be riding my Gold Wing trike and towing a Bunkhouse motorcycle camper with me. Going to camp for 6 nights and then a hotel room in St. John so we can roll out early without having to pack up the tent.

I mention weather conditions because when we went to NS in 2018, we managed to time it for the worst heat wave they'd had in decades. 88°F (31°C) and 95% humidity! Only time in my life I've ever ridden without a jacket. Jacket and chaps went into the trunk and stayed there! What kind of weather is typical for that time of year? I've been planning on my leather chaps and a mesh jacket with a liner. Rain gear in the trunk (hopefully won't be needed!) But any advice on the weather to expect would be appreciated.

And just to have a pic... here's my trike (his name is Canth) packed up to leave Dingwall NS.
