So I'm planning to do the Trans-Lab in Late July and found a few gems on the satellite maps...

Anyone know what's with the 2km long octagon at Saint Lewis? Apparently Saint Lewis is the furthest east you can travel on mainland North America. It's also home to a defunct US air force early warning radar station that lasted for 3 whole years before becoming obsolete.

Also has anyone ever wild camped on Wood Island? There seems to be a pull off plus a couple cabins on the south west end. Or is wild camping pretty stupid in polar bear country.
