Noticed that there was quite the traffic backup out in Holyrood last week and has me wondering if there is any website where this type of work and/or detours are shown for the public? I got caught up in one last year in Holyrood as well (couple of hours), I wasn't aware there was a detour in the area or I would have went a different route. It was a real pain and I really don't want to end up in one again. Problem is with work in the Holyrood area it can affect a number of different day trips I do, so if I knew about this type of work I'd plan accordingly.
From what I saw last year I can certainly understand why the traffic gets so backed up. The way they had things coordinated there was absolutely ridiculous, I was blown away at what I saw. According to the pictures in this article they don't seem to have learned much from the experience.
