No Country for ... 'light ADV'?

Can someone 'splain to me what the "Pho-togs untie" forum name means? Mercy buckets.

Anyway, for me extensive cab time is just as bad as extensive helmut time when it comes to thinking motorcyclish thoughts. I've been refining my 'Light ADV' wish list and wondering what bike setup would work in places like this in bad weather:

That boundary trail you see above is boot top loam that you would not want to faceplant in:^
You'll notice a lot of the farmland land has been extensively contoured to maximize crop exposure. Leaves me wondering who pays that bill?

The views are to die for and I always like to stop in places like these for a break. You can see there's a transmission line on the horizon and there's a train track back there just out of sight. Seems like there's some connecting range roads here and there so it's not as fenced off as it looks :v

Riding early or late you could be heading into the sun for a while: v v v

There's also a surprising amount of small roadkill. No pics out of respect for the dear departed furry critters who are best approached up wind if you must.

Wouldn't want to smack into one of those hay bales either, they weigh a ton. One of them rolled down a hill and killed a British rockstar on his ATV in the UK. Probably wouldn't happen at this spot, but have an eye anyway, especially if you're using one for a 'rest stop'... v
