Motor Scooters

Back in '18 I had the good fortune to spend 3 weeks travelling around the Philippines and of course, took notice that motor scooters are pretty ubiquitous everywhere as both a main mode of transportation and as a recreational vehicle. The 125-150cc class seemed to be the most popular. The main Japanese brands being heavily represented, but also a plethora of Taiwanese and Chinese marques as well. Scoots can be rented almost anywhere and local folks and tourists alike use 'em to travel all over the country.
Having not thought much about motor scooters before this, it was this trip that started to get me interested. So, I've been thinking that I wouldn't mind seeing if I could get a (minimum 150cc) scooter this coming spring, but pickings are SLIM here in Canada! Of course, I'll be keeping a eye on the local classifieds come spring, but there's not much available from Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki et al. Honda offers only the 50cc Ruckus (having discontinued the PCX150 a few years ago), Yamaha does have the BW125, but I believe the 155cc SMax has been dropped ... anyhoo, it's too bad that Scoots aren't more popular. The past couple of years I've seen more on the roads around here (though not a huge amount), but given the current state of gas prices, one would think that that HondYamaZuki would reintroduce more of their scooter lineup to Canada?
