With Saturday's high temperature of 100 degrees in Phoenix, I decided to make a break for home at daybreak on Sunday. I got home yesterday afternoon. Other than the last 350 miles of driving rain and temperatures in the 40s, it was a good ride. Contact with others was minimal, as I paid at the pump for gas whilst wearing gloves, brought my own snacks and water for during the gas stops, and prepaid my hotel accommodations, so basically collected my key cards each night, and cleaned all the surfaces I touched in the room with disinfectant wipes when I entered.
The hotels were chosen with nearby restaurants offering curbside carryout, so that went smoothly for each night's dinner.
Truck Traffic was as heavy as usual, but automobile traffic was very light, except for in the populated Urban areas, making for a brisk pace.
I have posted screen shots from the end of each day's ride showing that day's mileage and average speed. As you can see, speed limits decrease as one heads East. It feels great to be back in the Great North Woods, even if it is 40 degrees and sleeting right now! Now I can begin my two week quarantine...
