Critters

So, I am still planning on riding the old T Railway across Newfoundland this summer. Going to try and do the whole thing over a few days, but will see how I go. Basically going to pack my kit and go for it with a contingency plan of using the TCH for sections if need be. The plan is to wild camp along the stretch on the railbed at an appropriate clearing each night. Anyway, this got me thinking about the wildlife. I used to wild camp quite a bit when I lived in Western Australia...similar idea, but using a Toyota Landcruiser as transport. Venomous spiders and snakes were the big concern there, but so long as tents were zipped up tight and thoroughly checked before getting in....you were good. Oh, and checking footwear thoroughly as well!

For this part of the world, I am thinking about the bigger critters. Excuse my naivety, but the thought of a large Moose casually walking over my one man tent at dusk with a one man me inside wouldn't be pleasant right? I know that there are loads of Moose out there, but do they come close and/or pose any threat? I have zero experience with them...

Bears? I took advice from you guys and have some bear bags to store food and throw scrap food and things in. I imagine that they are way more scared of us, than we are of them, right or wrong? I have zero experience with them either...

Thoughts?
