Cheap Heated Grips

While in the USA last year I picked up two sets of a fairly cheap heated grip set that I found on sale at a Cycle Gear store. The kit includes the adhesive heater elements that stick to the bars underneath your grip of choice. It appears to be a three position switch and resistor included as well. I image when on the low setting the resister "bleeds" the extra energy in the form of heat.

I know there was a thread on the old forum regarding a similar cheap heated grip set that everyone used a few years back, but that info is long gone now with the forum crash.

Has any fellow members used a similar setup such as this? Any recommendations? I'm planning to install on my KLR, wired with a relay most likely to avoid battery drain. Just wondering if there is a special type of grip I should purchase to go over the heating element, where I should mount the resistor, etc.
