Camping Gear - What works, what don't?

My basic kit is a Hennessy Hammock, an MSR bottle stove, self inflating sleeping pad and a compact sleeping bag. I keep the stove in a small pot set with a lighter and a backpackers cutlery set. A flashlight, duct tape and a bug coil. Sometimes I carry a hand pump drinking water filter rather...

    Stator rebuild

Its a 08 650. I havent pulled the case yet but the early indications look to be stator. Its only at 15k. I still have to check a few connections for resistence across the R/R but from what I've read online its a good bet that its the stator. Many other simmilar stories. If the R/R checks...

    Stator rebuild

Hi all, It looks like I need a new stator in the V-Strom. Does anyone know of a place that rewinds the OEM stator? Maybe an alternator repair shop? The word on the web seems to be that the aftermarket parts are not the best option. A new oem is in the range of $360. Most sites...

Road to Granite Lake still covered with snow?

I took a shot down to Granite lake May 24th weekend and ran into a wall of snow 5 km in the road that follows Granite Lake. I had to turn around and head back. I know Hydro has been spilling water for the last month which is a good sign for snow melt. I’d like to try again before the end of...

    Salmon festival ???

I use the same 2 ring setup for mine. You can put it up in a blink with that $2 addition. I do like to use a sleeping mat to keep the cold from creeping in from the bottom also. I take them hunting in the storage seat of the quad. It makes a great dry shelter when your perched overlooking a...

    Salmon festival ???

Because I'm thinking I might ride out this year with my new Hennessy Hammocks I think this is a fitting thread for a motorcycle fourm. Does anyone know whats going on with the fest this year? I've heard that the original signed act backed out causing the delay in the release of the line up...

    Take 20 minutes....................

Insane, the manholes and grates made me flinch when they wip past under the bike. I get the feeling they just ignore them and keep pointed at the next curve. I liked how the camera shifts when the bike leaves the ground too. I wish were was a speedo in view to tell just how fast he was going.

    WTB: set of DOT's for a DR200

Hi, I'm looking for a set of trailwings that somebody may have taken off a new bike or something like that. Its for my wifes DR200. The Kendas on now are to high and I can't set the sag and keep her feet on the ground. She rarly goes off road so I'm not interested in aggressive tires. If...

What are you doing to the bike for the up coming season?

Hey Rob, I've put about 3000 on the set that you saw last year when they were brand new on the Strom. They still look the same. no signs of wear. However, this year will be the true test. I can't really say anything bad about them considering I have spent more on dirt bike tires in the...

    WR250R tires??

Hi all, I'm looking for a new set of tires from my WR250R. I've been using trackmasters but they have to go. The traction off road is just great but the road noise is painful. I've just ordered new sprockets and a chain so I may as well consider tires. I've been thinking of something...
