The pain was too much

So, a lot of hype about the Yamaha Tenere 700 (T7)

It is a excellent ADV bike, and the first true middleweight bike (for the masses) that can handle "most" road work and offroad (with proper tyres) with ease. All this and it looks the part, and is affordable as well. I have been impressed in every way with the bike, and it fits the bill perfectly for my intended use for it i.e hitting the road to get to the offroad fun bits locally in Newfoundland. The motor is great, and can sit at highway speeds and loaded all day. But this is the rub......I can't! Coming back from central the other week, I was only lasting about 45 minutes intervals before having to stop and get off. The seat is narrow and rock hard, and the turbulence over the screen for my 6ft 2 pretty bad. I have an old knee injury from playing sports and a less than ideal back from years offshore, and no way I can do distance on this bike. I really don't thing a new saddle would cut it.

So, don't judge....but I have decided to get something else for long distance work and keep the T7 for fun stuff. This morning, I purchased Darth Vadar.....or a Super Tenere 1200 ES (electrically adjustable suspension). This is not the latest or coolest big adventure bike out, but comfortable, comes with all the kit, proven reliability, relatively low tech, and undercuts the opposition in price considerably. I am planning some serious motocamping km's and I know this will be the machine to do it on.

So, that's my future retirement plans put back another few years....but you only live once right? Meet Darth...
