UPDATE the lads over at Freshwater Suzuki finally finished the repairs on my Bike about a month ago (wow, six months after she was delivered to their shop!!) ... anyhoo, have been waiting for a break in the weather to have it delivered and was supposed to have it dropped off yesterday, but...

Revive for this Thread ... here's an online article from MSN this morning about life with a larger displacement motorcycle in Manila: Riding a "Big Bike" in Manila

What's the Ride The Rock story?

Been a Member here for quite awhile, though don't post much ... I do check in every week to keep up to date. Was a member over at the old NLBiker.com back in the 00's until that website imploded and shortly thereafter discovered this Site :) Am a casual street Rider not an ADVer per se ... do...

    Crazy Insurance in Newfoundland

I was rear ended by an 81 yr old woman this past August. Luckily it was a low-speed impact. The Bike was damaged and I did come off of the machine but was relatively uninjured (stiff, sore, some light bruising) and able to walk away. Never bothered going to Emerg. (didn't want to wait 12 hrs...

    NL M/C License Plates; options?

Thanks b'ys ... am figuring that's what I'll have to do ... a trip to the MVR in the Spring to get a new plate. To bad the Gubmint doesn't accommodate us tax-payin', workin' stiffs with hours that don't clash with our 9 to 5 <rolleyes>

    NL M/C License Plates; options?

A few questions to ask of The Collective regarding NL M/C license plates. Long story short, my plate was (severely) mangled when I was rear-ended by a l'il old lady back in August, so don't think I would like to strap that back on my Scoot when she eventually gets repaired (parts are taking...

    New Bikes

True dat. Saw a dude riding thru Paradise this past summer on the matte desert tan version of the R.E. Meteor Classic ... nice lookin' Bike! There's a dealership in New Brunswick I believe ... will wait to see how my refurbished TUX turns out when she comes back from the 'zuki dealer (hopefully...

Update. A few weeks back a good friend of mine, who couldn't stand the fact that my poor l'il TUX was languishing outside in the elements at Avalon Towing's impound yard, offered to trailer it to Freshwater Suzuki, where it would wait inside for an assessment. Within a few days, the Insurance...

Hmmm?? So how does this work? They cut you a check, minus the amount they'd want for a buy-back?? Never had to go down that road before, so I really have no idea?

May have written off the bike.

Quick question for you Inmates. I don't think the impact was enough to have tweaked the frame (hopefully), but Bike is only a TU250X, so not really worth much $$-wise. Am hoping she won't be written off, but if so, will I have the opportunity to get it back somehow (how does that work?)? Am...

Yeah, lucky for sure ... I've never ridden with a pillion and don't intend to start ...

Glad you b'ys're fine. Sucks though. Got rear-ended on Bike m'self this past Saturday (Aug. 26th) over at intersection of Ruby Line & Southlands Blvd. Classisc little old lady who said see didn't see me stopped directly ahead of her. Not a mark on her vehicle. Rear of Bike is a mess. I came off...
