At least there aren't many black flies or mosquitoes (yet).
Any bets on when it falls thru the ice?
Congrats on the beauty new bike! Love the look of the Africa Twin!
I don't know how you could resist not taking the KTM out!
It was hard. But I didn't want my first ride of the year to be on a new bike. Plus I still need to get it registered in NL.....I will do that this week. I say we still got snow ahead of use still
He just doesn’t want to get any salt residue on his shiny new toy!
So, I have been laying a little low with ride reports on the site, but after picking my Triumph Trophy up from the Dealer after replacement of a faulty electronic Rear Shock under warranty today, I did one last ride up through Cave Creek and Carefree. All of the local motorcycle cops have their bikes serviced at the Dealership I have been working with, and I have been able to meet many of them. They are all warning me to stay off the motorcycle this weekend, which is the start of the annual Cave Creek Bike Week. To a person, they all dread pulling duty in the coming week. I will be cleaning up the bike this weekend in anticipation of the ride towards home starting early Monday morning.
Hope you make it back without encountering adverse weather! Things are improving but still have a way to go.
Excellent, safe journey north leading the caravan.
After checking in with some friends back home, it is indeed too soon to make it all the way. Apparently the secondary roads still have ice on them, and our culdesac and driveway are still impassible for a motorcycle, so I have arranged temporary storage for a month outside Kansas City. I will retrieve my Trophy in early May prior to a Trophy Owners get together in Arkansas.
It is already shaping up to be an Epic riding year...
Couldn’t wait any longer
How far did you twist the throttle?
Far enough. It's very controllable, even in Sport Mode. Knobby tires should last about a week.
Never rode in the month of March here before... I like it.
Second ride this year.... still a little cool...
Nice! Where is the photo?
I managed a short ride a little over a week ago and hope to get out for a couple of hours tomorrow - temperature is supposed to get to 13 C. Need to swap out some tires and do a little maintenance work before going too far. Salt is mostly washed away at this point but still lots of sand to watch out for. Not to mention the plethora of potholes and frost heaves. (This winter was tough on New Brunswick roads!)
I never even looked at my skis this season
Maybe it’s time to start thinking about a new moniker, Mike?
Separate names with a comma.
