Lucky for you that you tackled it when you did.
It looks like the weather is going to conspire against you pretty soon.

My avatar picture was taken on the Dragon about this time of year (in 2011, I think).

NB remains cool and NL wet. Hope you get a decent weather window for the return trip.

Going to be steady but not foolhardy on way home. Visited Wheels Thru Time this morning. Not my bike out front.

How did you guys get your Dragon pics?

Killboy and the other guys were in the corners taking snaps as they always do. You have to go to their website and look up your pics from the time and day you were there then you can order them online. I think $6 for a hi res digital if I remember correctly.

Sometimes you can see them coming. Funny as shit as I felt like I was leaning in pretty hard but obviously I’m a wimp barely any lean on that thing at all.

I think I saw 5 tents from 3 companies. the websites are:
    http://www.killboy.com/
    http://129slayer.com/Main.html
    http://www.129photos.com/
Click your date and look for the time you rode through. If you are at home searching, you need to add 1.5 hours to the time you rode through to find your photos. They are usually available for viewing 24 hours after you go through.

There are at least FIVE companies that have a presence on the "Dragon". As skibum69 mentioned, you go to the website and look at the pictures taken at the day/time you were there. You can pay and get a high resolution download (or email) with your picture. Prices are pretty decent and you will be able to choose from at least a half dozen photos - depending which companies were active during your pass. (I bought the Killboy photos as well - better than the others on that particular day) You can click on the picture and do a screen "snip" and get a low resolution version (with watermark) if you just want to make a collage of various photos for fun.

Probably others. there were only three when I did this.

Edit: Tonis Too was typing while I was typing - I think the three listed in that post are the most popular.
You may note I was experimenting with a car tire on the FJR at the time...

I only noticed 2 companies on my pass, and when I ordered it turns out they are owned by the same people

Thanks... there were 3 set up when I went thru. I will check them when I get home. Decided not to camp last night. Scraped the frost off before getting on the road this morning.

White roads this morning, and not from snow! A hugh layer of salt spread out on HWYs this morning,,

Crap!! My bike stays out until the salt hits the road. After that, I will only ride after there has been enough rain to wash it off the asphalt surfaces. Too many aluminum parts and exposed electrical connections.

Around here, it doesn't usually happen until sometime in November and depending on the precipitation cycle, I usually manage to get in at least an occasional ride up until the first week in December. This year, however, it appears that the season may end earlier. After a fantastic September, October turned cold quite early and we have a "Special Weather Statement" for snow tonight and tomorrow. As usual for the first event of the season, I expect that the weight of salt used will at least equal the weight of snow on the roads!

Brutal 3 hours of rain today... everything is hanging up around the hotel room drying. But for some reason, I'm smiling. Should be back into Canada tomorrow afternoon. Booking ferry for Thursday night. This is Tuesday isn't it? Losing track of time lol.
