I did see two bikes on the road today. Still loads of salt and only plus one degree. They must not have been cold because they were just weary hoodies

    And winter is back!
Snowed all last night. Windy but the snow is too heavy to drift. Maybe 15 cm or more - haven't been outside yet. I'm not sure if my 24 year old snowblower will move it or not. Might just shovel anyway - could use some exercise. Can't go for a run or even a walk with the snow and I expect it will be a while before I go back to a gym - even after they lift the restrictions.
+2° today, +6° tomorrow and +10° Sunday and Monday. If you can believe it, Tuesday is currently forecast to go to +14°C and sunny.
    Spring in Atlantic Canada.

I got out for my first rise of the season yesterday. Around Cbs then to holyrood. Few bikes out and about.
My legs trembled with pure excitement and pleasure. Wife commented that she wished she could make me feel that way.

Nice one! Mine is currently 17 years old and still going strong, however I'm considering retiring it to get a new one for next winter. Hate spending money on a snowblower though, so will see how that goes, may try to squeeze a few more seasons out of it.

I buy a new one every 10 years. Here’s pic of my 10 year old one along side my new one. I look after them really well and still holds some value for resale. My last two I’ve sold to the same guy.
And KTM orange is just a coincidence, lol.

I got my first and second ride in for the season today. I don’t believe they use salt around Windsor lake, so it was a good first ride.

Biking weather three days in a row in St. John’s. Short rides, but rides none the less.

While making my morning coffee I was disappointed to see the city had salted the lane last night. Bastards. The roads had been salt free for 2 weeks.

Crap! Times like this that make you hope for a good heavy rain. Can't say I often wish for it.
We had a bunch of snow (and salt) Good Friday but heavy rain during the week (40 mm or so). We are pretty much salt free and the first real sign of spring - the city vacuum truck(s) were out cleaning the sand off the streets this morning.

They laid it down as thick as if we were in a winter storm when the reality was that nothing stuck to the roads and the little that was on the grass was gone by 0930.

Looks like 20cm on the w(b)est coast...

Loads of salt and sand from the 10cm we got this morning... Which has since all melted.... Long winter

Just remember last year with snow in NL after the third week in May.
I have managed to get out for a few short rides, including twice to work this week. A cool 1 °C to start but 9 °C on the way home.

They have to use up this year’s inventory of salt in order to justify the same amount in next year’s budget.
They used to do the same thing in the North Woods until they discovered an inexhaustible supply of free salt brine from the cheese making Industry. Now they spread that toxic blend even if the low temperature is projected to be above freezing.

    Crap for April 19, 20...
Rain, wind and snow. They may wish they had saved the salt.
The west coast lucked out - no wind warning for Wreckhouse?
