Yup, enjoying working in 30º sunshine in Guyana while she shovels
Enjoy Guyana Mike. I had a great 10 trip there in Georgetown
So far so good, just kicking off the rope access for our company on this FPSO. A short hitch to start but it should pick up.
We are forecast to have a little early spring weather here at the first of next week. Maybe 8 °C and sunny.
Unfortunately, I will be at work. Even with those conditions, there is so much salt on the road that I wouldn't subject the bike to it - even with a post-ride rinse. The street I live on is still pretty icy and doubt I could get the bike out safely anyway. Maybe by St. Patrick's day? This is my usual target but only make it about half the time. Sometimes, it can be as late as second week in April!
Need a good heavy rain to melt the snowbanks and rinse the salt off. I can stand the traction sand leftovers - just have to take care in the corners and intersections.
I see that the Avalon and Burin areas are in for some relatively crappy weather again. Fredericton region is currently calling for +13 °C tomorrow and chance of some sun!
Unfortunately, this comes with roads that are totally saturated with salt and I won't be going anywhere unless we get some rain tonight. I need to pick up a "beater" bike to use for these occasions.
In the midst of it now. Another foot on the pile in front of the shed. Sigh.
I’m trying to stay positive, only 17 days til Spring. We may have snow til June, but Spring still starts in 17 days regardless.
You guys getting another dump in town???
We had a great run off weather for a week... Cooled down again....
Leap day was great, surfing session then a nice little back country ski session both in my back yard! When I get home later this week I’ll go ski up some of this new stuff. Leaving my house at 06:00 yesterday to drive into town in it was fun.
You applying for Guyanan citizenship Mike? Looks like a big boom is coming there and only 750,000 locals?
The book is going to be like nothing the world has ever seen if rumour is correct. Won’t be any shortage of work for me for years at this rate.
Looks like Eastern Newfoundland can't catch a break this winter!
Did enough snow from the previous dumps melt to make way for the current bunch?
We are expecting a bit on Monday-Tuesday but hopefully not too much. Long range has moderate temperatures (4-6 °C) for next weekend and the following week, along with some sun. Might get a St. Patrick's day ride??
Had a good thaw this week which knocked off last weeks dumping of powder. Still 3-4 feet of hard crusted snow across the yard and in front of the shed.
We were wading in knee/waist deep yesterday dropping big trees out back. Maybe I’ll go ski some more lines on the ridge with this new stuff.
Spring around the corner??
Yes, unfortunately here in NL the corner is actually buried under around eight feet of snow
Hey Bob, this is the ridge as seen from my upstairs window, good for a couple of turns. I think that counts for backyard skiing.
Here it is again Bob in the evening sun, shows up a little better
