Just looked at the Environment Canada forecasts - Avalon looks like it is going to be run over by a truck!
High wind, heavy snow, blizzard and storm surge.

Stay safe and I hope it is less than the forecast potential. Looks like it is fast moving but if it lingers, it could dump a lot of snow!

They're calling for 7 to 11 meter seas with possible max of 17 meter out where I am on this boat.

Been there, done that, don’t care to do it anymore. Even worse on an icebreaker.

I'm pretty stoked to see what it's like, not as bad as a year and a bit ago with 30 meter seas.

We're bobbing around pretty good and they've pretty much kept everyone off the decks for now.

Looks like the storm was WORSE than predicted. I expect you guys on the Avalon and Bonavista regions will be digging out for a few days. Electric power restored in most areas?

Winter in my part of New Brunswick as been relatively benign (so far) this year. A bit cool at -20 °C right now and 15 cm of snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow but not as bad as it has been in recent years. Hoping for an early spring. Bike on the road by St. Patrick's day? That is my target but it hasn't been possible for the last three years.

I had to crawl on my belly the 120 feet to my garage to get the snowblower. Chest deep, couldn’t walk in it. Been blowing snow all day, just gave up and still lots to go.

finally got through to the missus, she said she spent 6 hours shovelling today. At least we have room to get rid of it unlike the townies

40 hrs of snowclearing at work had me pretty tired but when I got home the neighbors had figured out where I was and they had a footpath cut to my door so I could get in without shoveling. Grateful/thanks is not enough to say but it is all I have.
