Some tire brands like the TKC80 have Tube Type (TT) and Tubeless (TL). I believe the TL tires have an extra layer and a better bead design that allows them to seat/hold air better. And of course the TL is more expensive.
So I’m thinking you can use a tube with a TT or TL tire. But likely not a good idea to use a TT tire without a tube (on a cast or sealed rim).
