Next in the series of my Octobrrrrr Adventure. I certainly wasn't the fastest bike on the Dragon that day, I may not have even been the oldest, but I bet I was the only person from Newfoundland!

Cool video, I mounted my GoPro on the back of my bike facing Trash for the ride. We all lucked out not having anyone in front or behind us making it easier to ride at your own pace. Man, it's going to be a long winter. Looking forward to 2019 rides already.

Going to be a long winter?
We have only had two days above freezing this month.
And snow cover the whole month.
And, October was the second coldest on record for us.

    I know, quit my whining...

Nothing wrong with whining... it's not as if we're not all thinking the same thing. I'm already focused on next year. Booked myself into a workshop in New York state at the end of May to give me my push to have the bike ready and get off the island by Victoria Day. Got to get a new passport. Shopping for a new-to-me rear wheel... the pot holes have done it in. A new one lists for $1055 before taxes. Making a list of maintenance consumables for the Red Mistress's Christmas stocking (that's the bike, not the girlfriend). Maps ordered. New GPS on the way. Another action cam on the way (damn those Black Friday deals). New boots are here. New helmet needs to have intercom mic and camera mic transferred into it. Got a list of trailer and camping things I need to buy and/or make over the next few months. December, January, February, March & April are going to feel like there is 90 days in each of them. Gotta keep busy and I don't mean by clearing snow.

A few on eBay right now. Always a chance that the vendor's idea of "straight" and "good condition" may not agree with yours. Just the same, paying well over $1000 for a wheel is a little much!

I've been looking at the ones on eBay the past couple of weeks. All in the states and shipping will be steep too. A new rim in the US lists at about $550 which would make it around $725 Cdn. so I don't know why it lists for $1055 here. Of course there aren't any in Canada anyway and would be a month or so delivery at the very least. It's always a crap shoot with used parts if you can't see it. Still, will probably commit tomorrow... just waiting for the Canada Pension deposit lol.
