And magically all of the snow will be gone and the roads clear of sand and salt!!

Theoretically, I try to get my first ride in on or before St. Patrick's day. Hasn't been anywhere close to possible the last couple of years.
Hoping for better luck this year.

We could have snow til June! Doesn’t change the fact that Spring is in 23 days!

My birthday is the end of March. I always say all I want is to be able to go for a ride. Most years it is close. Sometimes just before, sometimes a week or so later.

Last year I got out for a good run in Feb but it was -10ºC out.

Jan/Feb 2018 I think we had at least two days in plus double digits, in which I had a nice ride.

For me, Spring starts March 1st. I just find from a mental perspective, once I reach March I can see Winter's finish line and I can handle the weather better. I know we often get brutal March's (and April's, May's, etc.) but its like a load is lifted off my shoulders once March arrives.

Yesterday was my first morning this year seeing sun before 7am. Definitely a good feeling.

About to go out and clear snow drifts... spring? Mid-April maybe? Already optimistically going cold weather camping test around the 12th of May... I know, I know, didn't I test that in the fall? On the ferry on the 17th or 18th and heading south for a couple of months. Off to find summer. I just want it a little warmer so I can start maintenance!

I have already committed to meeting a group of my new fellow Triumph Trophy Owners on the first weekend in May down in Arkansas. Based on the reports of more than five feet of snow on the ground back home, as well as temperatures still well below freezing, it looks like the Trophy isn’t going to be making it back home anytime soon!
It currently looks like the best I will be able to hope for is storage in Kansas City on the way. We will see...

I'm talking about Spring, not Spring weather. We don't get Spring weather til JUNE, lol. But that's too depressing to count down to.

...and that's why I am heading south as soon as I can.

That's promising and snowfall here hasn't seemed too bad but it is that relentless cold. Maybe I'm just getting old. Oh, that's true.

I spend a fair amount of time in the gym over the winter but not much between the end of April and end of October. Certainly helps with riding stamina - core strength is pretty helpful for long riding days. Helps with weight control as well - motorcycle apparel is too expensive to replace!! Want to get back down to below 200 lb before the season starts; only 5 lb to go. Gets harder to get back into it every year...
