Southern Cruise

As we prepped for a road trip we had no plans or expectations except 2 nights in Dildo Run PP with the Sleepyhead crowd. I had never done a road trip with Versys Rob and after baby sitting him through maintenance this winter and a bike purchase this summer I figured he owed me some laughs at his expense. We would be joined by Gregg J but I had never met him before. Both these riders were on ST1300 Hondas and I would be taking my GSA for its inaugural ride of the season.

We left town on Thursday morning after meeting up at Robs house. Gregg showed up on time with a full tank. A good sign. Rolled west and stopped for a coffee in Clarenville. Gregg had some purchases to make so I sipped while he ran errands. Hot and sunny, life was grand. We headed north for a loop of Bonavista and hit a wall of cold near Port Union. Temps went from 22 to 11 in a few miles. We ain't in Kansas anymore ,Toto.
Subway for a road lunch off the back of the bike and a trip to Keels where an iceberg had grounded. Rob had not seen the Devils Footprints which are everywhere here. After doing a B&E on Greggs friends summer home (which meant untying the doorknob on the back door) we considered it as a sleeping spot but it was early in the day so we rolled south to get supplies in Clarenville. We waited out some rain under the cart corral at Sobeys and then headed to Hatchet Cove for the night at a friends cabin. Taught Rob how to play Crib after supper and we are really good instructors because the bastard won.
