With the 2017 season drawing to a close, I thought I'd toss out the idea of Soiree 2018. Thoughts? Maybe a Skibum Soiree reunion?? Any other ideas or places we haven't been yet? Maybe Frenchman's Cove Provincial Park?

Frenchmans Cove is nice. So is Sandbanks and Pistolet Bay.

If all goes well getting our B&B up and running for the summer I may reinstate my original Skibum Soiree back at my place.

Is there a date set for this?

In previous years it has been during the Canada Day holiday weekend. But no, there is no official date.

I really enjoyed having the opportunity to visit Pizzaman’s home in Maine and to ride Mount Washington in New Hampshire this year. I was probably a little grumpier than usual because of the flu but I’m glad I didn’t miss it. Thanks for the call Murph and for everyone else for waiting for us in Sydney.

I hope 2018 will be as good or better.

I’m offering to host at my place again and looking forward to the 2018 Soiree regardless of where it’ll be. Been to Frenchman’s cove and Pistolet Bay and they were both great. I’m up for anyplace you decide on, however .

Pizzaman has no idea how much he made the last Soiree a topnotch event. It made the difference between a good trip and a lifelong memorable event. Kudos.

As for next year, as always I leave my options open, but the Burin peninsula offers some of the best coastal riding on the province. Lots of out and backs and dirty opportunities with a central supply town. The route out through Roncontre is something every rider should consider as well.

The original Soirees I hosted at my place were mostly end of summer, last weekend before Labour Day to work better with my work schedule. Except for the one on the West Coast where work totally screwed me.

But now the road to Tuk has gotten on the radar which may end up with the situation the same as the last few years.:p

I also liked the September date for the Soiree. Tuk is on my radar too. It will be done.
