Running rain from Bathurst to Port Jolie to visit with EmmBeeDee and Dresda tonight. I left Rob still snoring and have just crossed into NS.

Yes, the east coast route or even the #4 are a way better option than the 105 which is boring and has that big hill. The 4 goes along the lake and is quite pretty and has less traffic too.

That's the one I always take on the bike, much nicer.

It was a nice find. The asphalt is a bit rough in some places but it keeps you on your toes and certainly awake while choosing your line...

I don't think snoring quite describes it................

Here is a picture of the track covering the 4901 km trip recorded on my GPS.

How did you like the new bike on the trip? Nice way to get it broken in :)

The seat could be better. I noticed after about 3000 km the engine was getting better fuel mileage and felt even more responsive. It looked top heavy loaded with gear but handled it well and gave me no grief in the twisties. It was easy to foot peddle around even though I can only touch my toes down. I would like to have the bars an inch or two higher and the pegs lower. Love the sound of the engine. She is a keeper I think. :)

SW Motech makes nice on/off-road pegs that have two height adjustments. I have mine in the lower position and made a nice improvement. Zeta makes nice looking bar risers and very affordable....I have them on my klr and varadero and IIRC they were $36 per set.

We arrived in the pitch black of night and set up camp here. Woke up in the morning and found out we were in heaven. A beautiful spot and great hosts.

If Sargent makes a seat for your bike, it is well worth investigating. It made a huge improvement on my GS.

Had a double size homecooked meal after too many beer on the beach in Thomas Raddel PP. Thanks to EmmBeeDee and Dresda. After some light touring and breakfast I headed north on the slab and am in Port Hawkesbury now looking at the 4 to Sydney. Yummy again.

Look into a Seat Concepts re-foam and cover. If they offer for the FJ, I would recommend. Price effective and comfy to boot. You can even get customized options on some models. I had on my KLR and wouldn't hesitate to upgrade with them again if required

Littlepeter found me on the road and has dragged me home again. Always good to see him. A great place to wait for the boat in the comforts of home.
