I hate winter, so let's get the ball rolling for Soiree 2017. Should we stick with Canada Day long weekend? The following Provincial Parks have been talked about: "Blow Me Down", "Sir Richard Squires Memorial" and also "Frenchman's Cove"

Lark Harbour is more picturesque park but Sir Richard Squires would be more centrally located for multiple days of riding. There are pros and cons to both. SRS will be full of anglers that time of year, but the weather will likely be warmer than camping near the ocean at Lark Harbour.

    Either or works for me

I have a connection that lives in Lark Harbour. And if he's home at the time he could arrange a lobster boil. Same payment as last year I would guess. Just some food for thought, lol.

I'm taking two weeks to explore the island this summer if fate allows it so I am game for either. Never been to Squires.

Wow, that is a huge jump for the annual pass. What is wrong with this place? Is the current govt trying to kill the tourist industry?

Crazy! That is a significant increase for sure!

    Hold Me Back!

Ordered my free Parks pass today! Thanks for the tip.

What are the specific dates of Canada Day this year? Could we hold the soiree at one of the National Parks to take advantage of the freebee....or are the establishment's rules too restrictive?

I'm going to focus my travel plans for the summer of 2017 on the Rock....all things considered. It's been too long since the last visit, that was the soiree in Corner Brook around 2010. As I recall, there were more attendees at earlier soirees held more in the middle of the Rock. I miss you guys!

While I'm visiting, I'll to try encourage you to attempt one or more of the Iron Butt Association's certified long distance rides. The challenges really give your ride a purpose, or goal. And, they are fun!

Here's to an extended visit this summer! GIV'R!:)

That looks the business! What are you going to do for wind protection?

Thinking about a parabellum shield, screens for bikes or go the whole hog and get a Lynx-R.

Lynx R is whats on the front of the KTM Dave, if ya want to have a closer look at it. Also might have a baja squadron kicking round somewhere out in the tightly packed shed i could be persuaded to part with.

I would like to take a look at your Lynx fairing and ask a few questions about it. When can we get together?

It's going to slow me down a bit and force me to take less highway and hopefully more of the roads less traveled. Looking forward to doing the dirt road from the Burgeo highway up through Red Indian Lake on a bike with dual purpose tires. There are some great camping spots on the south eastern part of the lake. I hope the new Sargent seat is as good as claimed.

Are you going to Serpentine Lake this year Fortech?

    Sure, why not! Lol

Shoot me a date and I'll do my best to schedule around work. This is separate from the Soirée correct? Or the same week?

Same week hopefully. It can be before or after the soiree weekend. I want to make it there before riding from Burgeo up through Red Indian Lake to Badger.
