My Dad bought a new BRP Spyder in Corner Brook on Tuesday.
I figured he would ride it most of the way home, but apparently he had other ideas.
He only went as far as Deer Lake, pulled into Irving and said : ok, your turn. As it turned out, that was code for : ok, you ride it the rest of the way home. lol
It's an interesting machine for sure. Lots of power with the new 1330cc triple. It will pull 122kph in second (or so I've read :p)
It has a ton of cool features, and seems very well thought out and well built.
The handling is obviously the biggest thing to get used to, it is totally different than a regular motorcycle obviously, and I can't say I am a fan of it. It's great around town, but on the highway it follows every rut in the road, and taking turns at anything approaching a brisk pace will get your heart pumping in a bad way really fast. lol
That being said, it is a great ride, and I do see the attraction it has for certain people.
The boys at Rapid Powersports we fantastic to deal with. Danny was very knowledgeable about the bike, and his walk through was very complete. He answered every question we asked.
