Is there any way to change the minimum allowable number of characters in a search term to three instead of four? There are lots of times when it would be nice to be able to search with shorter keyword strings:
Oil, ABS, ECU, PVC, Gas, KTM, KLR, BMW, LED, LCD, TFT, GPS etc. - lot of others would be nice to be able to use (in combination with other terms to shorten the number of hits).
I was trying to do a search for TKC tires (70 and 80) and couldn't...

Didn't know if this was a forum setting that would be easy to change.

That's because all those three letter words you show above are bad words and shouldn't be searching for them, j/k ;)

Couple of ways around this. You can use an asterisk as a wildcard (before *tkc, after tkc* or wrapped *tkc*) with the three letter word and it will help - http://ridetherock.com/index.php?search/1393040/&q=tkc*&o=date

You can also use Google to search the site (good for images) by prepending 'site:' at the front of the URL and then the search term after - site:ridetherock.com tkc

I find the Google one great on a lot of sites but not so much with this one for some reason. Must be some restrictions in place to prevent Google from indexing all the pages or something.

I am on another motorcycle forum that recently went through a major upgrade and the option to use a three letter search term was suddenly available. Quite useful.

I have used the Google method before with varying success (depending on the site). Haven't tried the wildcard addition here but found it not especially useful in other forums - will try it here next time I run into issues but if three letters is a settable option, I think it would be better.
