Same here. Should be home on Friday.
Another great day with Murph and pizzaman. Deer lake to Port au Port loop. Ditched murph in Stephenville. Either him or me had to go. Pizzaman and I are in port aux Basque. The adventure continues for me to wharf ratt rally in Digby. Pizzaman is off to Maine and back to work.
I peeled off in Kippens. It was a pleasure to ride with Pizzaman again. I hope we repaid some of the hospitality he has shown us in the past.
Spent the night at Concours house and had a grand early evening. His dad and I had some great laughs this morning before I headed north and set up camp in Little Bay to beat the rush. Wish me luck looking for the ace of spades.
In Harrys Harbour now where the librarian made me a coffee while logging on. A first.
You are so charming (at least after a cookie) that people can’t help themselves.
My adventure continues to wharf rat rally. Poured rain all day but we r finally in Digby. Let the games begin! Pizzaman is close to st. John. Staying in somebody's trailer.
Good luck with the Chase the Ace, Murph... good to see you when you dropped by. I'm busy getting the trailer back on the road. A little wiring glitch left.
One of the reasons to stay on this side of the gulf was the rain off the boat.
No I did not find an ace but neither did anyone else. Entertainment, campsite and fed for 26.50.
Set up to take the blow/rain in Woolfreys Pond tonight. Cheap campsite tucked in the trees and showers for 16.25.
That seems like an expensive shower
Maybe they charge by the square inch?
If they charged by the square inch they could have made a handsome profit.
While it rained after I set up camp I took a nap before heading in to Lewisporte for supplies and a ride down to Laureceton. For the unaware this is an excellent out and back with some nice twists and good road. The campground was good with lots of families and a live band in the evening. I listened for awhile and settled in early with earplugs but the night was quiet and I was surprised that I slept very well and later than usual.
In the morning I did some errands in Gander and went to Twillingate for a spin before heading east via the Lumsden loop. Fueled in Gambo and reverted to homing pigeon mode. Got in before 1900.
Two weeks on the road and the mileage was low but expenses were minimal but the good food and company meant a grand staycation for me.
The Lumsden loop is one of my favourite routes. I love the place where its all rocks and the huge waves come in. Its probably got a name but I don't know what it is.
Glad to hear you had a nice staycation. That's what we've been doing the past two years. We go to Sandbanks in Prince Edward County and pretend we're on the Atlantic.
What is the "Lumsden Loop"? Route 330/320 all the way around or does it include specific bits or off the main road? Is there a map somewhere?
Wowsers, glad no injuries
Yes the 320/330 from Gander Bay to Gambo is the route I was referring to.
Just a thought. September 21st weekend, get together in Badger for a fall ride? It's in the plans to go to bring my camper back. Be great to see someone!
Hmmm, I missed the rally this year because of work, I may be able to make it. Depends on the weather.
I'll be at the R80GS/R65LS 40th anniversary rally in Pennsylvania on my '82 R65LS with the original designer Hans Muth who is coming over for it.
Hmmm. Considering this.
Tickets were limited to 150
To clarify...I am considering Badger, not PA. The weather forecast looks promising.
