Yes, the July event was originally Sleepyheads idea. Whoever is the moderator, feel free to rename any of my posts or delete them.

Wow, you are nothing if not persistant, Skibum69.

I did Frenchmans Cove last year. Sunny ride down, rain and fog on the way back. The park had some good tent spots.

Hey Ski bum, No one intended to steal your event name exactly.

the last three years there have been campouts on Canada day. It started because there wasn't any other meet ups going on. In the first year soiree was quickly adopted really because of all of the fond memories of your soirees in years past. It stuck through the years.

There is only one Skibum soiree. I guess there could be other types of soirees.

Ok then, Sleepyhead’s sleepy campout rally.

Persistent? More like stubborn, ornery, grumpy...

This sounds very interesting Greg, A definite dice roll with respect to the weather but an area of the Province I would enjoy spending a few days.

Our trip is coming together now. June 29&30, Fri and Sat, in Frenchman's cove, hopefully with lots of folks. Sunday, possibly at my cabin, near Makinsons. Ferry from Argentia on Monday evening. Extra cost is justified, but was a tough pill to swallow. Saves us from slabbing across our great province yet again, $100 in gas and 9-11 hours driving. 4 of us have ferry booked, myself, Gregg, Murph and Pizzaman. From North Sydney, we have no set plan, just drive different routes if possible to US and back for 9-10 days.
Just thought I would put the plan out there in case others are wondering and may want to join us.

I wish I could get the time off work but it looks like the beginning of July is going to be very busy for me. I will see you all in Frenchman’s Cove though!

I'm contemplating breaking the travel from the west coast up and going to Dildo Run Campground on the Thursday night. Haven't been to Twillingate.
I am booked into campsite 21 at Frenchman's Cove Friday and Saturday night and don't have a problem sharing the site.

Booked into 22 and could share also.

Sounds awesome Rob, you guys should have a great time!

I wish I could tag along this year as our run last year was probably the best group run I’ve ever had. Unfortunately I find myself flying out west on June 25 to start a rotational job so I can’t even make the NL portion.

Drive safe and have fun! Definitely very envious of you guys at the moment!

Try and check out Sansomes for lunch or supper! Oh, and cash only, no debit.

I could be in that area July 2 or 3.

Twillingate is a nice ride Jim. I am getting reports that icebergs are starting to show up around the area too. Should be a good ride.

I see that you guys are planning your trip for the 29th and 30 of June, I will be on the west coast during that time doing some camping at Barachois Pond Park and doing the Port au Port Loop (thanks to your video).

Wishing you guys a great trip and safe travels. Cheers. :)

I guess we'll be crossing paths this trip, Fred. Have a great tide around the Port-au-Port! Right now I'm planning on Thursday night at Dildo Run. Fingers crossed for ice bergs. Friday looks like the possibility of showers as well as Sunday on the Burin, but Saturday looks good. Airing out the tent today.

... and I picked up my provincial parks seasonal pass on Friday. Seniors discount lol. Only need to camp 5 nights to have it pay for itself and it I am doing 3 of those this week. Looking forward to meeting up.

Hey guys. It's been too long, ya, I know.
Not in the cards for me this year to participate. But I'm envious.

I didn't read all the posts yet, so someone may have mentioned this already..... but just in case....
If you do go to Sansomes, remember to BRING CASH. They don't take any plastic.
