Here are some suggestions for RTR Rally 2018 camping. And a reminder that the July 1st weekend books up fast for these parks, and that online booking opens April 25th
I think there should be a new name for theJuly event as the Skibum Soirée is my event and there is a little too much room for confusion. So whoever started the idea of July think up a name.
I have voted for Frenchmans Cove for the Canada Day campout ride. (Note the non soiree name) The possibilities for adventure from there have improved with the new ferries to St Pierre et Miquelon as well as the route to Pooles cove via bay L'Argent. They use a platform to lift your bike onto the deck of the ferry to Roncontre. You could knock off two southern destinations in one trip.
Murph never steered me wrong. I'm sure he's been sorely tempted , I'm still not sure I can make it but I voted for Frenchman's Cove as well.
I've changed my vote for Frenchman's Cove... if I am on island, I wouldn't mind seeing something new.
As a sidenote to the Frenchmans cove possibility. I looked at the fees for provincial park camping and they have gone up significantly from 2 years ago. If there were 3 riders that were to split the cost of a cabin (available at the entrance to the park and no park permit requirement) it would be similar in cost without the bad weather issues. I know we are all tough but camping in the rain sucks especially after riding in it. BTDT.
Cabin sounds like a great idea; I say lets stop writing back and forth, and just agree on it before the option to go there is gone! Like they used to say on Hawaii 5O, "Book em' Dano"
Buys', Lets just go for it! I'll bring along some of my home made batch of rum just in case it rains! It will make it much better ;-)
