Pirelli Angel GT Sport Touring Tires Review

IMG_0088.JPG I replaced the tires on my BMW K1600GTL with the same ones.
Front tire life: 11,626 miles (18,835 km)
Rear tire life: 14,076 miles (22,804 km)
This is far and away the highest mileage I have ever accumulated on a set of tires on a full sized touring motorcycle. It is also the first time I have worn out the front tire before the rear. I attribute this to two factors: the rear tire has a compound tread with a harder center tread, and the front tire is much smaller in profile, carrying much more weight per square inch of tread. As you can see from the photo, the front has also scalloped over the last couple thousand miles, although it hasn't affected performance appreciably. I probably could have gotten another thousand miles out of the rear tire, but decided to replace the pair in anticipation of an upcoming trip.
Pirelli uses a high silica count in these tires, which contribute to both excellent wet weather grip, as well as tire longevity. I would rate the dry grip as average for the tire class. Both tires are "A" spec, with added sidewall reinforcement.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend these tires for a sport touring application.
