Mitas E-07 Tires Evaluation

I installed a new set of Mitas E-07 tires on my BMW F700GS prior to the recently completed TLH trip, and here are my observations after the first 11,000 km:
1) They are worthy of the 50:50 tire claim.
2) Grip in the gnarliest sections of loose gravel are what set them apart from more street oriented tires.
3) They were surprisingly quiet on the highway, given the aggressive tread pattern.
4) Wet weather performance improved as the tires scuffed in.
5) Tire life projects to be excellent. I anticipate another 4,000 km is not beyond the realm of possibility.
6) Dry road performance is clearly not equal to more road oriented tires- especially if there are any tar snakes lurking!
In conclusion, I think these tires are superior to the much more popular Heidenau's, and are a great choice for anyone heading out on a long distance mixed surfaces trip. My personal preference is for a tire with better on road performance, understanding that there are off road consequences to such a compromise.
