A well-known taximan is dead after a motorcycle crash on the Burin Peninsula.
The man was driving the bike and there was a female passenger on board. RCMP say the man died at the scene while the woman is believed to be in stable condition in hospital in Burin.
Cab drivers are in shock today after learning that the victim was Tom Hollett, who was the owner of Jiffy Cabs. He's believed to be in his mid to late fifties.
The accident happened in the community of Harbour Mille over the lunch hour yesterday.
