? Left early, what happened?
Hopefully no injuries or bike damage was incurred!
Ok, I will tell the story. Minor aches and scrapes. Steve, on his beautiful Vstar had a mishap on the way to Grates Cove. Misjudged a turn and crashed. Scared the crap out of me. Bike appears to be a write off. Lots of cosmetic damage. God was watching over him as it could have been a lot worse. Local trailered his bike to Grates cove. Steve rode bitch with me. Then I was silly enough to give him my bike. To his credit,he jumped back on and drove home from hodge water line. Says he has full coverage in his bike. Now he is in love with my st! I am still a bite shaky. Going to take it easy on our upcoming 2 week adventure. I am sure someone else will post pics.
I'm glad he is ok. He is a lucky man!
Visited Steve last night. Stiff and sore but up and about. Retrieved his bike from Grates Cove. Yup, the bike still looks wrote off.
Only pic I took of group at whitbourne area. 13 in total. Thanks for the great turnout.
Good to hear that Steve is doing ok, he's a lucky man for sure. Other than that, it was a great day. Looking forward to more group rides this summer.
Was that you lot that rode by my house on Saturday?
Gate was closed as was the shed. Figured you were on the way to Whitehorse.
Missed it!!! Gotta check this board more often. I mentioned to the wife we did a ride this time last year. . . . I would love to do the Irish Loop sometime. Keep me posted if this comes to fruition.
Actually I was walking around in the backyard. In Whitehorse now, trip is done due to coolant leaking into the engine. My fault for screwing up the water pump rebuild.
Sorry to hear that. Thats a rebuild I imagine.
yeah water pump and whatever else I killed on it
Washed bearings perhaps. Sucky!
Coolant sitting in the motor eating bearings for way too long. Who knows how bad the rebuild is going to be?
Sorry to hear that Skibum
My back went out something fierce this morning, I was totally seized up and couldn't move. I had to crawl to the car and lay down in the back to get to the hospital. The missus has never seen me in so much pain, she was a bit worried looking at me almost screaming every time it spasmed. I guess I won't be on a bike for awhile.
Been there. Even breathing can be agony. Feel better soon.
It was a wake-up call when the Surgeon told me a sneeze could paralyze me back in ‘92, after I threw my back out (again).
“Successful” surgery back then meant he trimmed away the disc material that was threatening my spinal cord.
I tend to miss that disc material now and then these days...
So far so good, at the moment it feels totally normal but still being extra cautious for awhile.
