This bike was bought new by Dougger from Islander RV in 2007. I pried it out of his hands on May 1st of 2011. The Toy Box has completed all of the servicing since new. The bike has been well loved and very well looked after and is in excellent condition. It has never been dropped.

The bike is black with silver 17” cast alloy wheels and silver trim. Additions include:

- Current odometer 25,968 kms.
- Avon Distanzia tires (90%-10%) installed with about 6000 kms on them now (not shown in 1st photo below).
- Rear tire “hugger”. Looks great and keeps road debris off the rectifier.
- 12 volt outlet added to dash.
- Short “sport” windshield by MRA.
- Stock windshield also included.
- Stainless steel rad guard.
- Acerbis wind deflectors on hand grips.
- Ventura rack system with large cargo bag and spare rack. http://www.ventura-mca.com/
- A pair of new, never installed, front brake rotors is included.
- An electronic copy of the service manual is included (plus the paper user manual).
- Includes a pair of motorcycle stands to raise the bike off the floor for service or storage.

In my opinion, the best thing about this bike is the engine. The liquid cooled parallel twin has lots of torque to make you smile and the stock exhaust sounds wonderful when the revs build. The handling is my second favourite thing. You can carve coastal roads all day long. This bike will handle a passenger with ease at any legal speed. The 650 doesn’t complain. The suspension preload and rebound damping is adjustable for a variety of weight. The upright riding position is quite comfortable. This is a bike that would suit relatively new riders and experienced riders alike. I should add this bike has a 6 speed transmission with Kawasaki’s positive neutral finder.

This website has a good overview of the Versys:

The bad things? The reset button for the trip meter (also used to set the clock) is not working. You would have to pull the instrument cluster and spray some of that stuff used for cleaning electronics into the switch to make it work. If I were to keep this bike, I would probably upgrade the front brake lines to stainless for better performance and feedback. The bike will get a brand new battery before it leaves the house this year. That’s about it. All it really needs is a new rider to love it and use it. The bike was licensed in July.

Price: $5,000. PM me if you are sincerely interested. May consider trade or part trade for a classic airhead or something interesting with 2 wheels.
