Hoping for a couple more 4-5 hr. day rides. Of course, it's good to not be restricted to waiting for a weekend.

The high temperature was 4 here yesterday.
Even worse, on the ride into Phillips, the road crews had begun spreading cheese brine on top of the bridge decks.
This morning the temperature is -5, so between the salty roads and cold temperatures, I suspect this weekend will be the end of my North Woods riding season. Quite premature, compared to other years...

The days I plan to stay clean and dry are the days I get most wet. No complaints!

Took the missus and the 1100 down to Greens Harbour for a spin yesterday and my two mornings home have both been warm enough for my outdoor shower.:)

Gotta get the new stator and battery into the 640 and go for a test ride.

On the other hand having 4 bikes registered, insured and running is pretty exciting.

Skiing in October means riding season is drawing to a close around here. Hope you all get to enjoy the rest of your Fall Weather:)

I am still riding to work (in the dark) most mornings. A couple of days as low as the freezing mark but with dry roads. Certainly don't bother in the rain. Probably won't be taking the bike to work much longer - very rarely after the end of October although I will still get out occasionally up to the end of November or until they get salt on the roads.

Minus 1 riding to work this morning. A balmy 7 degrees when I left work to take the long way home. I think I will get another couple days where I can ride to work. Snow and the inevitable salt are forecast for the latter part of the week. Long range forecast doesn't show a strong indication of weather trend reversal so this might be it for the season.

Yesterday morning, taking a corner on my way to work (in car), there was a patch of black ice. Be careful if you are still riding two wheels.

    None of that happening here.
It’s currently -16C up here in the Great North Woods.
I would take a little black ice on the roads just about now!

Snow over night... snow and/or rain the next week. First day sunny and warm (lol) enough to have clear path to the shed, the bike is going into hibernation. Sta-Bil going in the tank tomorrow. Now it's all about getting plans made for next summer.

First snow (and attending salt) last night and today. Looks pretty cold for at least the next week. After that, chances for another decent ride are slim. Need enough liquid precipitation to flush away the salt and temperatures of at least 5 °C to make it worthwhile to me. Unlikely to get days like that but you never know. A few years ago, I managed a three hour ride on Christmas Day.
