Hey all.... just sharing some info:

It all started with me needing new riding jacket. As a current owner of well worn ARC Backcountry jacket I purchased from gnarlyparts for a 100 bucks, I was very pleased with it's 8 years of loyal service to me. Naturally, things wear out and well...we always like new stuff. :)

After lots of looking at various brands prices , I kept wanting the new ARC Battle Born jacket. 150 USD... decent price.

Rocky ATV in US was the only spot for me to get it at good price. Couldn't find anywhere in Canada to purchase. Of course, we all pretty much know that UPS is not a wise choice for getting stuff from US due the extra fees you have to pay when it shows up at your door.

Total for shipping quoted on site was: 220 USD. This worked out to 296 CAD. Not so bad...but who knows how much extra when it arrives,,,,probably another 50 dollars or more knowing UPS.

Sooooo.... I decided to give Cross border Pickup services a try. Heres how they work: Sign up for free. Then you are given a US address. Order your stuff in US with this address. When it arrives at location, they let you know. Then you pay them to carry across border then send to your home via canada post.

Here is the link to site for more info: http://crossborderpickups.ca/

Here's how it worked out for me:

Ordered coat using CBP from Rocky ATV: 203 CAD (150 USD + Free shipping because I am using US address)
Total charges from Cross Border pickups: 73 CAD
Grand total for everything-------------: 276 CAD

Thats 20 bucks cheaper than ordering direct from Rocky...let alone the hidden UPS fees!!!

The whole transaction went very well for me. The only minor down fall is that the cross border delivery service will add a few extra days for delivery.
Not a big deal. I will definitely use the service again if needed.

Happy Shopping!
