The loss of Mr Roy and his daughter are very tragic but I feel for both sides here. As an avid motorcyclist I am always watching for other idiot drivers on the road and I'm sure all of you do the same. However if I was in a car I'd be inclined to stop and help some motherless ducklings too but only if it was safe to do so. I'm guilty on a few occasions of stopping to help turtles cross the road in Ontario. The lady had no trouble seeing the tiny ducklings you would think a motorcyclist would see the dark 4 door sedan stopped in the roadway. The 90 days in prison is very minor compared to the Roy family loss of father and daughter. Do you think she is entirely at fault? Police estimate the motorcycle was doing between 113-129km/h when the brakes were applied and still doing up to 121km/h upon impact. The posted speed limit was 90km/h. On top of the 90 days in prison she's also not allowed to get behind the wheel for 10 years. So my friends the next time you need to stop in a not so safe spot for any given reason you may want to think twice.
