I think I'm going to the dark side. Not quite my ST red, an older model with a few scratches... but that sounds like me too. September pickup.

I love it Jim. I would have to paint it though!! Can't tow that around if it does not match the color of your ST. Those tent trailers make perfect sense to me. Lots of room to store stuff, and you are up off of the ground.

I've got a number of mods already planned... I'm not so sure about spending the money to paint it right now lol... mind you, it's got a great primer coat for getting it to my ST's red. Hitch is ordered and I'm already wishing I could go get it before September.

Awesome. Almost threw the switch on one a guy was selling in Jordan Falls on the south shore of NS a few years back. It was in great shape but we couldn't agree on its worth :) Enjoy!

They are so hard to find used... I probably could have bargained more but... I know how much it would be to bring one in new right now. Cripes, I can get a 21', 10 year old, sleeps six travel trailer for the price of a new Mini Mate once you factor in the exchange, the duty, taxes freight etc., etc.... and I DON'T want a sleeps six travel trailer lol!
This arrived today... planning on installing this weekend and then move on to the wiring harness.

Not til Labour Day weekend... done on the 31st... first time in 60 years where the Labour Day holiday does not mean the start of another school or work cycle. I'll know by October whether I can survive without becoming a Walmart greeter lol.

Really tidy. I am following this new farkle with great anticipation. I just might get me a trailer to tow behind my shiny blue ST, as long as it does not slow me down, or make me use more tires. It sounds quite logical till you start adding up the costs of the trailer, maintenance, etc.
I have a nice Red ST for sale really soon!! Just have to take time to shine it up.

I found that hauling the trailer (that came with the bike) from British Columbia to New Brunswick absolutely ATE the rear tire and killed fuel economy (about 2/3 the mileage I would expect to get). I believe that the worst of it was between BC and Marquette MI where I was dealing with very strong crosswinds the whole way. Better from that point to home. Absolutely no issues with pulling it other than at the gas pump (and the tire store when I got home).

Or you could carry a full set of spare tires in the trailer. :p

I've been looking for specifically the Mini Mate for a few years. 1. for how quick it can break down and pack compared with tent camping and conversely how quick it sets up. 2. with the awning and add-a-room it makes a great base camp to leave set up at a central location while I explore the countryside on day trips (I am no longer as restricted by deadlines re:return to home) 3. I can carry a two burner stove! 4. I can carry all my camera gear and the drone without sacrificing cooking gear, food and/or the girlfriend.
I'll be watching my gas... interesting to see if traveling at 110 with the trailer will be the same consumption as traveling at 130 without. Guess I will be smelling a few more roses at the "slower" pace.
