A couple weeks back, the youngen was beating around the back yard on the KLR and it died. Flat out died. Wouldn't turn over, couldn't pick it up downhill, nothing. So I says push that back in the garage and we will have a look at it.........later.

Later comes yesterday. When the key is turned on the neutral and high beam indicator come on very dull. Not enough juice to blow the horn but there is a connection. Jiggle the wires a bit and the lights brighten and the horn blows. Still wont turn over but I think the battery is dead. Also the lights go dull again when you hit the starter until you jiggle the wiring again. Maybe this happened more than a couple weeks ago, time flies. It was early September to be specific. Battery on charge now.

So far front fairing and plastics removed. Gas tank removed. Began poking around. I have always thought that the clutch cable was routed poorly seeing that it ran tightly against the wires coming out of the ignition so I rerouted that. Jumped on da Youtube and there is a video showing the six major trouble spots. I have looked but do not see any obvious damage. The recall regarding the electrical was done just after I bought it.

Anyone have any insights? I hate to just tear apart the wiring harness but will do if I have to. Any shortcuts, tips or trick would be appreciated.
