2014 Newfoundland Trip

I just copied this from a thread I have on the ADVrider forum. Here's the link: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=964102

I'm looking for feedback and possibly a riding partner or two.

Okay, it's official, I'm retiring on June 26th! Finally!! Well, I have a wedding to attend on June 28the and spending some time on the lake in early July so I figure that I'll be ready to go on July 15th and alloying 3 to 4 weeks for the trip.

My plan would be to take 3 to 4 days to drive to North Sydney and take the midnight ferry to Port aux Basques. No ferry from Portland. I'd like to spend at least 2 weeks on the rock, possibly more. Camping as much as possible except if it's raining a lot. I'd be open to a loop around the Gaspe' Peninsula or some other diversion but really want to focus on Newfoundland. And the TLH is not an option for me. I'd want to return to NS from Port aux Basques and spend remaining time exploring NS or NB or the Gaspe'. No interest in PEI.

I'll take either my GS or RT with fresh tires and would aim for a long day of riding through New Brunswick and easier (200 to 300 miles) days in NS and Newfoundland.

I'd still like to find a compatible riding partner(s), at least for parts of the way, but I'm guessing that may be a difficult thing to do. Surprise me!
