I guess I'll still recognize you on your new Katoom.

Yup. I think the 1290r is easily spotted.

Yeah. More likely to see that bike from behind than that front view you could see in a rear view mirror.

That odd front light is more noticeable than a H4 bulb.

I thought the same thing about the pair of round LED rings around the high beams that would illuminate as daytime running lights on my BMW K1600GTL. Unfortunately, I was surprised to learn from other riders that the bike was virtually invisible to oncoming traffic in strong daylight. I got in the habit of running the fog lights permanently.

I don’t know if it will be the same with the KTM, but I would stay alert for motorists turning in front of you until you are certain.

Surprising but true with respect to the GTL LEDs. Those Clearwater aux lights on your 700 with the yellow lenses were a different story.

the new LED's on both of my KTM's shuld be plenty bright and I think the aux ones I put on the R65 help too.

On the 1290r, the full headlight comes on automatic when dark. OR, I can run full headlight during the day as well.

Based on my experience, you might want to run full headlight all the time.
It might not look as “sexy”, but it might keep you safer. ;)
    Just my $.02.

Test ride done and the buyer is happy.
